Amy's COVID-19 Updates

Last updated on May 15th, 2020

Here are some answers to common questions that we have received from you in the last few days.

Why can't I find your meals at my store anymore?

The demand for Amy's products has increased dramatically in recent weeks; and while we are making and shipping products daily, some of your favorite Amy's meals may be difficult to find.

We apologize deeply for this and are doing everything we can to fast-track as many of our products to stores as possible.

Are you still making meals during COVID-19?

Please rest assured that we are committed to continue to make safe food for all of you throughout this crisis.

Can I buy direct from you?

Thank you for your patience as we recognize that some of your favorite Amy's foods may be temporarily unavailable.

We apologize deeply for this and are doing everything we can to fast-track as many of our products to stores as possible. Unfortunately, we are unable to ship products directly to you.

That said, we work with many online vendors that you can see here

How are you keeping your employees safe?

Even as the demand on us to get food out there is great, we are committed to the health and safety of our employees and to ensure that we continue to maintain the highest quality standards of food production.

We are modifying our production processes to provide additional separation of employees (social distancing), including setting up protective barriers between employees where physical distance isn't possible as well as additional break room areas. All production employees are wearing face masks and/or face gaiters and protective eye wear.

We are prioritizing those products that allow for more production space between employees and products that we can make more of.

We have supported our high-risk employees during this time, including not requiring anyone 65 or older to come to work.

All of Amy’s employees receive paid leave, and we have adjusted operations so that many can work from home.

How are you helping?

So far, we have donated nearly 350,000 meals to local food banks, hospitals and organizations with programs to support children and the elderly and will continue to donate throughout the crisis.

We have also been able to donate 36,000 face masks and over 500 face shields to local healthcare systems to help with their shortages of PPE.

Our Amy's Drive Thru, located in Northern California, is offering free meals to first responders and health care workers.

Are your Drive Thru restaurants still open?

Our Drive Up window at Rohnert Park is open 11am to 10pm, and we now offer curbside ordering by phone. We have also partnered with Doordash, Uber Eats and Grubhub. Our SFO location remains closed temporarily. Please visit AmysDriveThru.com for more information.

Can COVID-19 be spread from food?

We are not aware of any reports at this time of human illnesses that suggest COVID-19 can be transmitted by food. However, it is always important to follow good hygiene practices (i.e., wash hands and surfaces often) when handling or preparing foods.

At Amy's, we are dedicated to making products that are delicious and safe to enjoy. We follow strict Good Manufacturing Practices in all our facilities, including regular hand washing, food safety inspections and sanitation procedures.

Do you have an official response regarding COVID-19?

Yes, you can find our official response letter here.
