Amy's Kitchen
What
started out as making small vegetarian and organic meals for
Andy and Rachel Berliner has now explodeed in the natural frozen
foods category. When the couple had a baby girl, Amy, they
found out that with the demands of parenthood there wasn't
any time to prepare the vegetarian meals they enjoyed. They
knew they weren't the only families in that position. And from
there, Amy's Kitchen was born.
Named after their daughter, Amy's Kitchen is the nation's
leading source of frozen natural and organic foods. It offers
more than 70 natural and organic products, ranging from skillet
meals to the newest innovation, Toaster Pops. The Toaster Pops
are frozen pastries that go from the freezer to the toaster
in minutes. They make a erfect breakfast, lunch or an afternoon
snack and still maintain the natural ingredients found in all
Amy's products. The frozen pastries are available in four varieties:
Strawberry, Apple, Cheese Pizza and Grilled Cheese. "Our customers
aren't just vegetarians. Our primary consumers are families,
college students, workers and kids, too," says Mysty Stewart,
marketing coordinator for Amy's Kitchen. "What draws people
into Amy's Kitchen products are that they have a homemade taste
to them. This is the kitchen aspect of Amy's Kitchen. You aren't
going to find that processed taste that you might ordinarily
find in other frozen foods." Amy's Kitchen uses only organic
ingredients; fats are used sparingly. None of Amy's Kitchen
products contain meat, fish, poultry or eggs.
Now in its 13th year, Amy's Kitchen brought in $90 million
last year in retail sales and $65 million in company sales.
Amy's Kitchen products are available at natural foods and grocery
stores, warehouses, club stores and leading supermarkets throughout
the United States and Canada.
