Sigh, Summer

These are my feet, barefoot and wet, just as feet should be. I have never believed in shoes, and I think I am the only person at SA to ever get detentions for not wearing shoes at school.
I haven’t written in a while, because, well, nothing is happening. And that is just the way I want it to be. There is nothing I HAVE to do, except the occasional TV program interview (we are going to be on California Country and on the Food Network, “The Secret Life of Quick Fix Foods”) and my summer reading list for Stanford, which I haven’t started yet. I was supposed to go off to Greece a few days ago but I got a sinus infection and decided the change in pressure of the airplane would not be a good idea. So instead I have been floating on a floatie (is that what you call it?) in my pool with my many books(of course, not the one’s I have to read), my bottle of 30 SPF sunscreen, and my delusion that skin cancer is the kind of thing you hear about, but won’t actually happen.
Occasionally I am joined by my other best friend Sarah, (my other best friend Ryn does not enjoy the sun) or my boyfriend Andrew when he is not busy with homework or summer school (he is trying to graduate from college in 3 years instead of 4). Andrew, though, does not float and read with me but instead swims laps for thousands of yards back and forth and back and forth, while I lay there feeling lazy and out of shape and thankful for good genes that make exercise optional. (I know I know exercise is very good for me and I do stay in shape most of the time…but give me a break, I just graduated from high-school with almost all A’s…it was really hard…I deserve a little R&R.)
And then when I get tired or hot or burnt (very rarely, once again, thankful for dark skin genes), I go inside and watch a few episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which is my latest obsession. You see, I grew up without television and felt somewhat deprived until this year when I discovered that they put TV on DVD’s! Without the Commercials! Battlestar Galactica on the Sci-fi channel (known by fans as BSG) was my first obsession, and I watched every episode religiously until the kickass season finale in May. But the next season will not start again until October so I have been watching Buffy (I am not actually as much of a sci-fi/fantasy nerd as all of this makes me sound, or maybe I am). I am currently on season two(There are 7), and I just cried because a friend told me that during season three Angel (Buffy’s Boyfriend) is going to leave to go start his own show with Cordelia! Oh the horror!
As you can see, I am having a very productive summer.
-Amy

Public Service Announcement:
Amy actually is as much of a Sci-Fi nerd as her series-watching habits make her out to be! You should see some of the books she reads.

Wow, I am so impressed about you being a Buffy fan. You are the first blog that I have come across to mention Buffy. (well besides myself-I mention it in my IPOD music list). I mentioned your website in my blog tonight and when I was getting the address I found your blog. I look forward to reading more.

Hi Amy,
I think spending your 18th summer contemplating your toes in the pool sounds fabulous. You are about to embark upon a new way of life–school can be all consuming. Keep your balance by taking care of yourself and by remembering the most important thing. Best to you always & RS.

HI AMY,
DO NOT WORRY ABOUT WATCHING DVD MOIVES. I LOVE TO WATCH SCI-FIc MOVIES. I DO READ A LOT OF SUBTITLE AND CLOSED CAPTION ON MANY DVD MOVIES. WHY NOT TRY TO READ CC WITHOUT HEARING SOUND. YOU CAN TURN CC ON AND PRACITCE READING CC.
DO YOU KNOW THAT MANY FORIGEN PEOPLE APPRECIATE HAVING CC TO PRACTICE READING ENGLISH WHILE THEY WATCH ANY MOVIE ???
IN FREMONT I RENT A ROOM IN A HOUSE NEAR MY WORK AT WELLS FARGO BANK. I USUALLY RENT 10 DRAMA AND SCI-FIC DVDS AND I WATCH THEM WITH SUBTITLES AND CC. I DO NOT NEED TO BOTHER ANY HEARING PERSON. I DO NOT NEED TO HEAR SOUND BECAUSE I AM DEAF. I ENJOY READING CC WHILE THINKING DEEPLY.
YOU CAN TURN CC ON AND TURN SOUND OFF WHILE STUDENTS STUDY HARD. YOU WOULD NOT NEED TO BOTHER THEM. SILENCE IS GOLDEN. YOU CAN READ CC WHILE YOU WATCH ANY MOIVES WITHOUT SOUND. TRY IT AND SEND ME EMAIL AT dmfcoolfox@yahoo.com david frank

I spent the entire last spring watching all of the Buffy and Angel DVDs. My husband protested and rolled his eyes at first, but then I caught him watching ahead on the dvds after I went to bed.
I decided to give them a chance after becoming obsessed with Firefly. Best. Show. Ever.

This is hilarious. My husband insists on keeping his DVD sets of EVERY single season of Buffy and Angel (the show that came next) on display. He has every episode number and plot memorized. I’m so glad they’re both over. He was religiously devoted to them. I will admit though – they ARE really good shows.
You have a spectacular blog! SH

I would love to see more veggie pizza’s (no cheese, please) with peppers, onions and some more traditional pizza ingredients. Your cheeseless pizza with artichoke hearts is o.k. but the sauce isn’t our favorite.
Allergies in kids are becoming more prominant and I am blessed to have such a lively, funny and intelligent son of 4 who is allergic to quite a few foods (milk, eggs, beef, cinnamon). I think someone who has the insight to understand food allergies and has the ability to make easy to cook foods will be very successful in the years to come.

Amy;s frozens dinners are great. I am trying to lose weight for my wedding and this is the best diet ever.
I have try most of the dinners and I recommed
them to all of Raleigh NC. I was wondering
your food is so good. I told my girl freinds i wish I knew Amy I would like for her to bring some of her dishes to my wedding.
Dec 8, 2007-What a christmas it will be,.
will don;t change a thing I am your best customer. I went to supertarget in North Raleigh yesterday and fulled my cart up.
the cashier said”how’s the pizza” I said when you go on your break try it. It’s better than any frozen pizza in the whole forzen section.
once you try it. Bam it;s over,.
Well I just wanted to tell you kept making the best healthy dishes in the world.

Thanks for the great organic food. Your indian food and pizzas are my favorite, but the indian dishes still need a little tweaking to taste like the originals.. Particularly the saag paneer dish, just go to any punjabi resturant and make a comparison. Its still good though!
