PLANT FOOD SAFETY MANAGER

SUMMARY
The incumbent will direct the food safety activities at an Amy’s Kitchen food plant location(currently one position for Santa Rosa and one for Medford). She or he will work jointly with local plant management to assure the safety of the canned and frozen foods produced at that plant.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology with a concentration in QA/QC; or a degree in a related Life Science from a four-year college or university and five years experience and/or training in QA/QC; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 5 years of food safety and technical experience with food and food-related products (including food laws and regulations) within a QA/QC environment.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science or related field.

Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.

Exceptional interpersonal and assertiveness skills, necessary to maintain effective and cordial working relationships while enduring the pressure of being a person whose foremost responsibility is quality.

Excellent communication skills; ability to relate to all internal levels as well as interface with suppliers and government on a technical level.

Team player. Works well with food safety staff, local plant management and corporate food safety groups.

Detail oriented.

Reliable/Dependable.

Preferred:
Knowledge of food product formulation.
Membership in IFT, ASQ.
Project Management experience.
