Amy’s Kitchen, Inc. a leading vegetarian and organic food manufacturer
has an opportunity for an experienced Industrial Engineer. This position
will report to the Director of Manufacturing. Individual will Carry
out a variety of broad based assignments in determining the most effective
ways to use the basic factors of manufacturing-people, machines, processes,
materials, information and energy. Contributes to factory analysis
and initiates projects that improve safety, quality and productivity
and acts as a resource for designing, implementing and training on
new techniques and processes. Assist the Engineering department management
to evaluate capital equipment requests. Also works on studies relating
to work method, and establishes a format to be used in the development
of standard data. Combines technical knowledge with a sense of human
capabilities and limitations. Organizes details into a broad view of
the total operations. Performs cost analysis of manufacturing (materials,
methods, labor) to aid financial planning.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from
four-year college or university and 4 years related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A four-year degree in Industrial Engineering is preferred.
Knowledge
of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and
other techniques for maximizing manufacturing of finished goods.
Knowledge
of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Good
communication skills including the ability to talk with production
workers and be willing to understand their concerns.
Strong analytical
and problem solving skills
At times will be required to manage cross
functional teams in an efficient and productive manner to complete
required tasks.
Ability to effectively present information and respond
to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the
general public. Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
Ability to apply
advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic
equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations
to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability
and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling
theory, and factor analysis. Strong statistical analysis background.
